Royal Welsh College Symphony Orchestra: Landscapes

On a summer evening during the Great War, Ralph Vaughan Williams heard a lone bugler amidst the fields of Flanders. That haunting sound grew into A Pastoral Symphony: a wordless war requiem drenched in poetry – and a perfect complement, in this week of Remembrance, to orchestral landscapes by Rhian Samuels and Lili Boulanger, plus the ever popular (and heartbreakingly beautiful) The Lark Ascending.
