Dick Whittington, the Pantomime
Rehearsals are well under way and we are really looking forward to bringing our highly regarded, much awaited pantomime to the village of Tockwith and surrounds. This year we have gone back to a traditional rendition of a story of a boy who travels to London to see if the streets are really paved with gold. On the way, he is befriended by a cat and when he arrives he meets the lovely lovely Alice and her slightly dysfunctional family; Alderwoman Fitzwarren, Flossie Fishfinger the chief cook and bottle washer and Silly Billy (who really is very silly). He also encounters the villainous King Rat and his evil band, meets Bilge and Boom, two apprentice Sailors, and sails to the island of Utopia with the Captain of the Saucy Sue, who be doomed by a curse!! (cue dramatic chord)………..but I’m giving away the plot! Why not come along and see it all for yourself.
