'Why Iris Murdoch Matters' and 'Murdoch on Truth and Love'
These two new books, one a monograph, the other an edited collection, bring together Gary Browning’s own thoughts on Murdoch as central to our own time. In this lecture he will argue for her position amongst the key theorists of modern life. He will discuss her art, philosophy, fiction, religion and politics and how she understands the nature of late modernity: in short, why Iris Murdoch matters.
Gary Browning is Professor in Political Thought and Associate Dean for Research and Knowledge Exc
