Words, Women & War: Forgotten Female Voices of the Great War
Actor, writer and Edinburgh Fringe performer Irene Lofthouse invites you to meet four Yorkshire women who contributed to the war effort.
Bradford-born Alberta was a member of the Voluntary Aid Detachment providing nursing care to military personnel. She was also a poet, a publisher, and a friend of Agatha Christie and JB Priestley.
Leeds-based Dorothy was the youngest Lady Mayoress and a Pals Battalion fundraiser. She was a poet and socialite with a great interest in the Yorkshire dialect
