Newbury Choral Society - Handel: Samson
Samson, one of George Frideric Handel’s most popular and dramatic oratorios, was first performed in 1743 to much acclaim. It tells the familiar Biblical story of Samson’s betrayal by Delilah and his destruction of the Philistines, presented by the Newbury Choral Society under the baton of musical director Cathal Garvey. Professional soloists and the London Ulysses Orchestra will contribute to making this a memorable occasion.
