Newtown's Waterways - past and present
A two-day event, to be held both in the Museum and at 7 High Street, Newtown where exhibits relating to the industrial heritage of the river and canal will be on display. Our partners are involved in current and futures uses of the waterways for leisure pursuits. A guided walk will be held each morning which will focus on the history of the canal and the woollen mills, as well as the use of the river power to drive fulling and carding machines.
11:00 27th and 28th October. 11.00 - 15.30. Both at the Textile Museum (5 - 7 Commercial Street) and at 7 High Street, Newtown. Walks at 11.30 each day. Free entry
