Stroud Ceilidhs are coming to Lister Hall Dursley on April 6th for some high energy barn dancing with attitude complete with live music from Token Women and caller Jo Freya to guide you through the moves.
You don’t need experience or to bring a partner.
Token Women’s exuberant, jazzy and utterly infectious sound is a favourite with ceilidh dancers. .
They boast a driving fiddle, keyboard and percussion section topped by brass. The tunes are sometimes traditional, sometimes written by members of the band, but always coming out of a deep knowledge of European dance traditions. The only conundrum is exactly how does Alice Kinloch play fast reels on a tuba ... come and find out!
