YORKSHIRE AIRSHIPS by Chris Henderson

PIE & PEA SUPPER to be held at Farsley is themed on one of Yorkshire’s more unusual aspects of its transport heritage. Barnes Wallis (later Sir Barnes Wallis, he of bouncing bombs and airships fame) chose Howden in what was then the East Riding of Yorkshire to build his famous R100 airship and the story of the R100, and of other airships, is to be told by Chris Henderson of the Barnes Wallis Foundation.
