Lucis Choir - Puccini Messa di Gloria
Puccini is justly celebrated as one of the greatest opera composers, renowned for stunning works such as Tosca, La Boheme and Madama Butterfly. He wrote his Messa di Gloria in his early twenties and the music combines the vibrancy of youth with the exquisite melodic writing found in his later works.
The first half of the concert will feature a range of sacred music by Tye, Franck, Britten, Rheinberger, Schubert and Howells.
