Get creative in Haverhill this Care Home Open Day
A care home in Haverhill is inviting local people to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
The team at Cleves Place, on Millfields Way, will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event to celebrate Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
This year’s theme celebrates the role of arts within care, which is important in encouraging residents’ self-expression, and helps to create meaningful experiences.
Cleves Place has organised an art-themed party to celebrate the open day, with entertainment, activities and creative fun. Visitors can look forward to an array of exciting activities, including a music for health workshop on Friday, children's arts and crafts and flower arranging workshops on Saturday, and a live band and barbecue on Sunday. An art gallery of residents' work will also be displayed during the weekend.
Noby Chelathadathil Jacob, home manager at Cleves Place, said: “Creative activities are such an important part of life for people in care, whether it’s painting to help enhance hand-eye coordination, or just reminiscing by putting on some music – the arts are a vital part of life here at Cleves Place.
“We’re so excited to be hosting our Care Home Open Day event this June.
