Get creative in Lowestoft this Care Home Open Day
On Saturday 29th June, from 11.30am-4pm, the team at Britten Court, on Love Road, will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event to celebrate Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
This year’s theme celebrates the role of arts within care, which is important in encouraging residents’ self-expression, and helps to create meaningful experiences.
Britten Court has organised an art-themed party to celebrate the open day, with entertainment, activities and creative fun. Visitors can look forward to a celebration party inspired by ‘The Greatest Showman’, with games, stalls, face painting and a photo booth. There will also be live entertainment from Seagull Strummers, the chance to meet donkeys from Hemsby Wellbeing Centre, and a dog agility display complete with a meet and greet to get to know the four-legged friends.
Chloe Swarbrick, home manager at Britten Court, said: “Care Home Open Day is such a wonderful opportunity for our home to connect with the local community and show what it’s really like to live in a care home. We’re counting down the days until we welcome the people of Lowestoft into Britten Court.
