Hoxne Hoard

How a mislaid hammer led to the finding of the largest Roman treasure in Britain.

Tony Diamond will relate the remarkable story of how the largest hoard of late Roman silver, silver coins and ornate jewellery of the fourth and fifth centuries was found at Hoxne. It has an estimated value of some £3.5 m and is now in the British Museum.
The talk starts at 7.30 pm.
