Mozart – Solemn Vespers
Solennes de Confessore K.339 written in 1780.
Requiem in C Minor. Missa pro Defunctis was written in 1771.
The Haydn Requiem in C minor was written for the funeral of an Archbishop of Salzburg.
At the time of its first performance a fifteen year old boy called Amadeus Mozart was playing the violin in the orchestra that performed it! There is evidence also that Mozart used it as a model when he wrote his own requiem 20 years later and at that time Mozart was working in Salzburg!
