Tyntesfield - $tow High in Transit

A thought-provoking photography exhibition by Olli Hellmann revealing the links between the boom and bust of Peruvian guano and the transformation of Tyntesfield. Tyntesfields owner, William Gibbs, became known as the richest commoner in England due to the profits made trading Peruvian guano. Perus government used guano contracts as collateral for massive loans, leaving them deep in debt when the boom went bust.
