Newport Rising Festival
Newport Rising Festival is a celebration and remembrance of the sacrifices made by the Chartists in Newport in 1839, honoured by a festival full of Chartist inspired activities including performance, music, film, spoken word and with a torchlit march in the footsteps of the Chartist at its centerpiece. On the 2nd November from 5pm hundreds will meet at Belle Vue Park tea rooms (close to where Chartist met in 1839 before marching into town) and light their torches for democracy, before marching
