Garden Open for Charity
This one acre garden in the heart of the countryside is opening for the National Garden Scheme. There are areas of woodland with mature native trees and natural ground flora. There's a small stream, a pond, bog garden, terraced banks, various mixed borders and beds in both shady and sunny situations, with traditional garden flowers and also many of our native plants. The potager-type kitchen garden is enhanced by nectar-rich companion planting. A range of vegetables, soft fruit and tree fruit is grown. Grassy paths meander throughout the garden, and there are plenty of places where you can sit and unwind in the peaceful ambience of the surroundings, enjoy the pleasant country views and watch the abundant bird life. Much of the garden is on sloping ground so regretably not suitable for wheelchairs.
Dogs on leads are welcome. Teas with savouries and home-made cakes are available.
Admission: £3.50 for adults, free admission for children.
Open from 12 to 5 pm.
