Bedford Masonic Lodge, Tavistock
Heritage Open Day: A rare opportunity to visit Tavistock's historic Masonic Lodge. The first Masonic Temple in Tavistock was the first meeting held in the Kings Arms Inn on the 21st September 1791. The Lodge building on Pym Street today was built in 1901 for the sum of £944 with a donation of £75 from the Duke of Bedford; internal layout and fabric of the building remain largely unaltered with the notable additions of electric lighting in 1921, and a bar and kitchen in 1968.
