From Past to Present at the King’s Manor
Heritage Open Day: Come and discover the hidden histories of The King's Manor, a medieval building at the heart of York. Discover the building with our expert guides and find out about some our latest discoveries. The King's Manor is an architectural gem located at the centre of the city of York. Although some of the building is open to the public, many of the rooms are used for teaching or events and so normally inaccessible to the public. On Saturday 21st September we will host a series of guided tours of the building, taking visitors 'behind the scenes' to discover the building's past as the abbot's lodging, headquarters of the Council of the North, Wilberforce Memorial School for the Blind and the home of the University's Archaeology department. Alongside the tours we will have information about some of our latest discoveries.
