Heritage Open Day: Did you know that during World War II, 11 Parchment Street was in fact a pie shop! Go back in time with our display of photos from yesteryear, as well as some history of the humble pie. During the 1940’s the property of 11 Parchment Street was owned and run by Fred and Joy Broomfield as a pie shop and café. Joy would make the pies one side and Fred the café. This pie shop was a popular place to visit during the second world war, with queues reportedly down the street for pies!
