Heritage Open Day: The Watch House has a unique collection of artefacts, photographs, records and equipment from its beginning in 1866 to the present day. Unique film footage of a famous rescue and examples of today’s search and rescue work will also be shown. This event will focus on the unique heritage of the Volunteer Life Brigade which has a remarkable record of over 153 years’ service since its formation in 1866.
