Heritage Open Day: A chance to visit a fine example of a listed mid-Victorian church (1875) with a 173' (53m) spire and an oak roof 61' (18.6m) high constructed in a style almost unique in the South East of England. Built 1874-75 to the design of architect C L Luck, St Matthew's is an active church with an interesting history.
