St Swithin's Church

Heritage Open Day: St Swithin’s is the only 18th Century parish church in Bath. Built 1777-1790, it has a fabulous collection of Georgian wall monuments. It has connections with Jane Austen’s family, the novelist Fanny Burney, William Wilberforce and many others. St Swithin’s is the parish church of Walcot, the area of Bath which became a boom town in the 18th Century and the present church was designed by the architect John Palmer.
