Washington 'F' Pit Museum

Heritage Open Day: Visit Washington 'F' Pit Museum and step back in time to explore the region's coal mining heritage. See the amazing Victorian horizontal steam winding engine (now electric powered) in the former Engine House, the last of its type left in the North East. The Washington WWI Miner's Memorial is also displayed in the entrance hall.. Family trails available every day. Activities are free but donations are welcome.
