Heritage Open Day: Visit this Gateshead's only live theatre owned by the amateur drama group, the Progressive Players. Built during World War II in an art deco style this is an Aladdins cave of costume, props, lighting and sound equipment. Tours are provided of this amateur owned and run theatre showing the public areas, the sound and lighting facilities, props, all backstage areas and one of the largest theatrical wardrobes in the North East.
