Ram Hill Colliery
Heritage Open Day: Tour the remains of this significant 19th century coal mine. Visit the woodland area and the remains of the shaft, Dramway, engine house and horse gin. Ram Hill Colliery was linked underground to Rose Oak and Churchleaze pits, Coal was mined here for about 30 years until the 1860s. Historically miners and coal ascended the shaft using a horse gin outlined on the site. The remains of the engine house show later development. Coal held in bunkers, was transported from local pits
