Spen Valley Luddite Walk
Heritage Open Day: A 5-mile walk following the Luddites on the night of 11th April 1812, when they attacked a mill to try & smash machinery that was destroying their livelihoods as croppers. We'll point out Luddite-connected sites & local heritage features en route. A 5 mile circular walk suitable for any reasonably fit person - there are stiles and slopes to negotiate and off-road paths that may be muddy and uneven. Stout footwear is recommended.
