St Aidan's Walking Dragline
Heritage Open Day: Come and see the only large Walking Dragline Excavator in Britain (now over 70 years old!) and preserved on the former St Aidan's Opencast Site where it worked. It is also a Monument to the Sunshine Miners, as the Surface Miners were called. Walk all round the outside of the machine, see the Giant Bucket, now resting on the ground.
