Belshazzar's Feast and Enigma Variations
From the plaintive cries of exiled slaves to the overthrow of the lavish Babylonian court: William Walton’s electrifying biblical tale Belshazzar’s Feast is set for large chorus, baritone and orchestra. In gentler mood, Elgar’s lyrical Enigma Variations, including the much-loved Nimrod, paint affectionate portraits of family and friends. We begin with Elgar’s choral gem Give Unto the Lord.
