An orchestral concert of Britsh greats
Burford Orchestra’s autumn concert on 23 November at Burford School entirely features music from Great Britain and includes some of our island’s most famous composers. The first half journeys around our shores, with Cheltenham-based Gustav Holst’s Somerset Rhapsody cleverly interweaving traditional folks songs from the west country and Hamish MacCunn’s Land of the Mountain and Flood evoking moods and landscapes of his native Scotland. These are juxtaposed with Malcolm Arnold’s Peterloo Overture
Tickets cost £9 with £1 entry for under 16s and are available online from TicketSource. Contact info@burfordorchestra.org.uk or Sarah on 01993 883490 for information. Concert starts at 7.30pm, refresh
