Craster’s Hidden Gardens - Open Garden for NGS

In sight of Dunstanburgh Castle, in the picturesque village of Craster, sit 3 very different cottage gardens showing what can be achieved in a windy seaside setting. Formerly allotments attached to fishermens cottages - No.1 is still in development, and has two ponds, colour-themed borders and prairie style planting. No. 2 has sea views, bee friendly plants, roses galore and a lovely herbaceous border. No. 5 is a ¼ acre, divided into several separate areas: woodland garden, pond, fruit and vegetables plus borders featuring many unusual perennials, shrubs, grasses and ferns. The garden is managed to encourage wildlife.
Sat 20 June (1-4). Combined adm £5, Children £2.50. Home-made teas in village hall, provided by WI. Times:13:00 to 16:00. Open for charity.
