Blackheath Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Grouped together are three lovely gardens, set among the gentle hills and winding roads of Blackheath area. A love of roses is a common thread. In Michaels Cl, a magnificent Rambling Rector rose blankets a hawthorn hedge of this enclosed garden wrapped round three sides of a modern flat with densely planted borders defined by paths, steps and low retaining walls. There is a generous oasis of calm in Lee Rd. Benches are set beneath rambling roses overlooking sweeps of formal lawns with flowerbeds. Paths through silver birches and grasses reveal a treehouse clad with roses and clematis. The prolific vegetable garden is a sight to see! A little further lies a well bedded-in garden in Southbrook Rd with an abundance of big rambling roses.
