Palestine and its people are too often considered through a simple lens of pervasive conflict.

Under the surface, however, are layers of identity which are familiar to each of us: race, ethnicity, gender, religion, social class, disability and so on. These identities impact how the people of the region interact within a context of conflict and between one another.
