Nicholas Daniel oboe Jacqueline Shave violin Clare Finnimore viola Caroline Dearnley cello Put an oboe with three string players and you get an oboe quartet - and together with three friends from the Britten Sinfonia, star oboist Nicholas Daniel presents a lunchtime concert with a wonderfully fresh flavour. Moeran evokes the British countryside, there’s a quartet by the teenage Mozart, and something entirely new, as well: written specially for Daniel by the Liverpudlian composer Mark Simpson.
