Mozart - Piano Quartet in G minor
Schubert - Piano Quintet in A major 'The Trout'

Simon Blendis - violin
Nicholas Bootiman - viola
Chris Grist - cello
Sebastian Pennar - double bass
Daniel Grimwood - piano

To kick off what will be a thrilling final weekend to the inaugural Secret Garden Concert series, London Concertante are delighted to welcome you to our fabulous outdoor venue in Streatham for a wonderful evening's music. Mozart's Piano Quartet was initially considered too difficult by the publisher who commissioned it, but its startling novelty and inventiveness has since made it a hugely popular work, whilst Schubert's beguiling and bewitching quintet was an instant hit. Commissioned by a friend after he heard Schubert's song Die Forelle (The Trout), he was asked to write a piece featuring the song's theme; Schubert obliged and added an extra movement for good measure!

We are delighted that the food will be prepared by Sven-Hanson Britt, winner of MasterChef: The Professionals Rematch. Details of the menu can be found on our website: www.secretgardenconcerts.com/food

Please note: In the event of inclement weather - which shall be judged on the day of the concert by the event organisers - this concert will be postponed until a later date. The venue is suitable for disabled access.
