Letters Home at Christmas
In 1843, the first Christmas card was commissioned and printed in London by civil servant Sir Henry Cole. Together we will explore the stories behind some of the cards and letters which, since 1843, have been sent to and from family and friends during the Christmas period. From messages to and from Father Christmas to letters written during times of conflict, we will explore what they tell us about the festive season over the last two hundred years.
