Magical Christmas Concert
This year Kids for Kids are bringing the magical atmosphere of our previous concerts directly into your own home. On Wednesday 2nd December at 7.00 pm, the charity is hosting a virtual festive Zoom – the perfect way to launch a traditional Christmas in a year when we are all in need of that special magic.
Wherever you are, we invite you to join us for this wonderful evening of Christmas tales, carols and live music! Create the same Christmas spirit by lighting some candles, turning off the lights and getting cosy by the fire, and join in with the traditional Christmas carols.
We will once again have the choirs of Queen’s Gate School, one of the first all-girls’ schools in London founded in 1891, who’s angelic voices will enchant us and we will be joined by special celebrity guests to help usher in the yuletide season – what a way to start off the celebrations!
We welcome our Patron Joanna Lumley and also Julie Etchingham who will both be giving a reading at the concert. We also have the Reverend Julie Khovacs who will bless this years’ service from St Peters in Eaton Square. We hope you can join us as we have even more surprises in store for you this Christmas!
This year, more than ever, our hearts and thoughts go out to the families of Darfur. The area has been hit by drought, fires and floods. Covid-19 has arrived along with inflation soaring to over 200%. The families of the region cannot afford to feed their children. People are surviving on one scant meal a day. Adding to this desperation is the spread of malaria: floodwaters have been the breeding ground for mosquitoes – 60,000 people have already contracted this fatal disease, which is still the biggest killer in Africa. Families really need our help this Christmas to survive.
Kids for Kids is the only organisation helping the forgotten children in the rural villages of Darfur, Sudan. This year, our concert is raising emergency funds for struggling families and children.
The concert will be held via Zoom from 7.00pm to 8.30pm.
We are asking for a minimum donation of £10.00 which will go directly to helping the children and their families in Darfur, Sudan.
