Joining a committee on health research as a PPI member- for the public
Would you like to understand more about patient and public involvement (PPI) on research steering and oversight committees?
A 60- minute session for members of the public.
The NIHR Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre is a partnership between the University of Cambridge and Cambridge University Hospitals to support health research that makes a difference to the lives of patients.
Steering and oversight committees play an important role in supporting quality health research, and can be a way to provide a powerful patient/public voice throughout a research project. Join this information session to find out about the role steering/oversight committees play in research, and how lay representatives can provide an invaluable voice for the public.
If you are passionate about health and social care research and think you would be interested in joining a committee in the future, this session will let you know what to expect.
There will also be the opportunity to hear from public contributors and researchers about their experiences on health research committees and ask them questions.
Times: 10:00 to 11:00
