To continue our theme of Black Lives Matter, ‘Things Fall Apart’ by Chinua Achebe is our choice this month. A 1958 debut novel, it is the first by an African writer to receive global acclaim and is widely read and studied in schools and universities. Set in pre-colonial Southeastern Nigeria, the story is a tragedy for Okonkwo, an important man in the Obi tribe when white men first appear in his country. Peter Hammond will host the discussion.
