Faversham Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
3 distinctive walled gardens in historic Faversham. Start at 58 The Mall. A contemporary garden packed with pollinators, created in 2018, with materials reused in wire gabions to create raised beds and a wildlife haven. On to 54 Athelstan Road, a maturing garden on a once-neglected site. Ornamental vegetable beds take centre stage. Climbing roses, clematis, thalictrums, Regale lilies, sibirica irises and unusual shrubs, sheltered by old walls. Next, 19 Newton Road, a long, thin town garden, where the plant loving owner has used billowing roses, shrubs, climbers and perennials to blur boundaries. The judicious planting of trees, and curving paths, veil rather than conceal the garden as you move through it.
Sat 5 June (10-5). Combined adm £5, Children free. Also open Tankerton Gardens. Teas widely available in Faversham. Times:10:00 to 17:00. Open for charity.
