Queer Contact 2021: Dean Atta - Black Flamingo

Dean Atta reads from and discusses his novel 'Black Flamingo'.

Black Flamingo is the award-winning debut novel from writer Dean Atta. The book follows the life of mixed-race gay teenager Michael and his discovery of drag culture. In this event, hear Dean read some excerpts from his novel and discuss his works.

‘I didn’t want this story to look away from difficult topics, such as race and sexuality. But there are times in the story when Michael doesn’t fully understand what he’s seeing or experiencing.’
- Dean Atta, Nerd Daily

Poet and performer Adam Lowe will be hosting the event.
