Waste Less with Foodstory: STEM Exchange
Join Aberdeen Science Centre online to hear about Foodstory’s zero waste programme. The latest in our free STEM Exchange talk series – ‘Waste Less with Foodstory’ – will be given by Sandy McKinnon, Co-founder of Foodstory.
Those within the hospitality industry can be incredibly influential in how we consume food products. With Scotland wasting nearly 988,000 tonnes of food every year, we are in great need of businesses leading the way with core values that make a difference.
From their crowdfunding campaign back in 2013, Foodstory – a community based café in Aberdeen – have always been purpose driven, with people, food and the environment reflected in all they do.
We are delighted to have Sandy McKinnon share the journey of Foodstory with us; from how they started, to why zero waste has become an integral focus of the business. Sandy will also explore some of the challenges COVID brought to the industry and the benefits that a zero-waste programme can bring to both customers and businesses.
As part of the online session, there will be time at the end for questions and answers.
