The Arts Society Tonbridge Talk: The Art of William Hogarth: Gin and Harlots by Sarah Stopford

Variety is the hallmark of William Hogarth’s work. Whether elegant conversation pieces or salacious brothel scenes, the scenes and characters he creates seem ready to step out of their pictures and into our lives. An exploration of Hogarth’s art is indeed descriptive of the peculiar manners and characters of the English nation in his time.
The lecture begins at 2.30pm. All welcome. Suggested donation for visitors £7.
