Waterpower in Belper - Past and Present Heritage Walk
A walk around the waterways of the Belper Mill complex, seeing how the Strutt’s used water from the River Derwent to power the 11 water wheels. Recent research has uncovered additional information about the original 1776 ‘South Mill’ that continues to use the water today to generate electricity, supplying the national grid.
Walk organised by the Belper North Mill Trust.
Walk begins at 2pm on Sunday 16th October 2022.
Adults £5 with accompanied Under 16s free.
