Responses” Art Exhibition by Brian Britton and Paul Deacon
Thu 5 August to, Mon 30 August
A selling exhibition showcasing a range of both realistic and non-figurative works that have been created to a wide range of stimuli and are responses to these visual investigations. The exhibition brings together textural painting and the beautiful line of print.
Brian gained his degree from Bristol University before embarking on a career teaching Art and Design. After 36 years in the classroom, teaching junior and secondary pupils, and training student teachers he retired to focus on his own art work, painting and drawing, creating bas-relief sculptures, and especially relief printmaking. In recent years his inspiration has been drawn from the landscapes, buildings, animals and plants of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
Paul trained at Bath Academy of Art in Corsham and Brighton College of Art, working in North Wiltshire as a teacher and artist for more than 40 years. Paul’s working process is driven by discovering subjects which resonate with him, using them as a starting point with the aim of revealing surprising outcomes.
Both artists are actively engaged in the running of local art societies and have exhibited for a number of years in both local and national exhibitions, having work in private collection both here in England and abroad. A group exhibition at the Corinium Museum Cirencester.
