Sculpture and Mark-making in Clay
Thu 19 August ,Join Paul Deacon, experienced artist and teacher, to create your own series of ‘artefacts’ in clay inspired by the museum collections. This workshops will encourage you to look at the objects in the museum’s archaeological collections ranging from sculpture, reliefs and pottery fragments, and make a response using clay.
Paul will take your work home to dry and fire it in an improvised kiln using sawdust and wood shavings. The firing process will be filmed and shared on the Corinium Museum youtube channel.
You will need to wear old clothes and an apron. Face coverings such as masks or visors may be necessary. All materials provided.
