The Middy Market
In a brand new venture for the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway Museum, we are piloting a new series of Craft Fairs combined with Car Boot Sales on every second Saturday mornings during our Summer Season.
The Craft stalls will be staffed by locals, who already offer their produce at other venues. The plan is to augment their displays with a variety of other goods and car boot sellers to widen the scope of the ‘fair’ for a wider audience. All stalls and pitches are free to sellers for the time being.
“We hope to attract a wider range of visitors to the Middy on these extra open days by offering something completely different”, says Rose Weller, the Middy Events Manager. “No trains will be running, but entry to the Station end of the site and the Museum will be free”.
Saturdays are one of the Middy’s Volunteer Days, so there will be people working on various parts of the railway, but the market will be laid out on the station concourse at the end of the line and next to the railway’s Tea Room, which will of course be open for visitors and sellers alike. The Market opens from 10.00a.m. – 2.00p.m.
