Model Mania & Hornby Collectors Day
Sunday 28th and Monday 29th August sees the return of the popular Model Mania and Hornby Collectors Days at The Mid Suffolk Light Railway, where there will be a selection of the iconic Dublo 3-rail and 2-rail layouts together with ‘O’ gauge and Meccano displays from the late lamented Liverpool Company.
Model Mania means what it says as there will be a wide range of models on display, not just railways and trains, including 1/6 scale model tanks – a WW1 mk.IV, a WW2 Panzer III and a British Grant, plus a selection of aircraft and model engines courtesy of the Mid-Suffolk Radio Model Club and Norwich Model Boat Club with a selection of model boats on display and in their own pond.
Tiny Flying Legends project is an attempt to recreate IWM Duxford and the world famous Flying Legends airshow in 1:72 scale. The current Display will feature smaller parts of Duxford as well as some of the aircraft that flew that weekend. Making and building will also be demonstrated.
As ever, visitors will be able to enjoy steam train rides in genuine 4-wheel Victorian coaches and all the Middy attractions, Museum, cafe, souvenir shop and real ale bar will be open to make it a great day out for all the family.
Preserved locomotives and rolling stock are subject to availability.

Open from 10.30am through to 4.30pm with trains every 30 minutes from 11am to 3.30pm or 4pm if demand requires.
