Herefordshire art (H-art) week is a county wide open art studio event, paid for by individual artisans and creative businesses.
Ivan will be exhibiting his detailed pastel artworks at two venues this year, the delightful St Michaels Church in Kingsland and the stunning Old Picture House in Kington. As a retired vet, Ivan feels his understanding of animals allows him to add that something extra to his artwork. As a pastel artist he feel that pastels have a great vibrancy and richness of colour that is often under appreciated. Ivan works largely from photographs and undertakes commission work as well as create artwork in a wide range of subject matter. He likes to give each piece a three-dimensional effect and detail is of importance to him - each 12in by 16in artwork takes him 25 to 30 hours to complete.
So why not take a day out, enjoy Ivan's artwork and other talented artists in both venues. Follow the pink signs, and explore the talent and scenery locally for free, as part of your H-art trail across North Herefordshire.
You can find out more at www.h-art.org.uk and catalogues of all venues open across Herefordshire are available at online and in outlets across the county.
