A Roman Temple in the Forest of Dean

Heritage Open Day: Excavations on this site have taken place sine 1984 and the foundations of a Nymphaeum have been restored. This was a sacred Roman site. The site stands high on the hill above Littledean with a glorious view of the horseshoe bend in the River Severn. It lies on the route of a Roman road from Oriconium near Ross on-Wye in the north to Lydney in the south where the remains Noden's temple are to be found within Lydney Park.
