Heritage Open Day: Scrump Shropshire apples and explore the medieval churchyard of St Martin's in Preston Gubbals. A name derived from Old English for Priest's Settlement, along with the name of Godebold or Godbold, its priest at the time of the Doomsday Book survey The church you view today is the remains of the chancel to the medieval building. In 1866 a new Victorian church was added to the chancel only to be demolished in 1973, leaving the medieval church in solitude once again.
